banana + car this one was supposed to be a , but it ended up just being another #combophoto. it's the fruit that keeps on giving. and there's always more banana ideas in the pipeline (and the lemon thing may still happen). see you next week. same time, same place. chances are good it'll be something with fruit, maybe pencils, could be more peppers, perhaps something with skittles or cereal or bread or balloons.

daughter holding wire + ski lift I've been holding on to this one since our ski trip last year. winter wasn't much of a winter out west last year. heading out to do more of the same tomorrow. hoping El Niño dumps massive amounts of snow directly under my skis. for some reason I enjoyed the fine detail of how well these wires (and their threading) lined up. it's the little things. aforementioned little thing is up on @combophotofail. prepare to be underwhelmed. #tbt #combophoto

steamroller + bread a little flatbread action for all you flatbread lovers out there. special thanks to Allen McKinney for his assistance on this one. we knocked this one out last summer and I've just been patiently waiting for him to get in on the @Instagram game. he isn't there yet… for some lame reason and I'm tired of waiting. to his credit, he does own a paving operation… and I don't, so who's the lame one now? cauliflower + poodle. while working in San Francisco last week, I managed to capture this #combophoto on the fly. pretty spontaneous stuff and it went down a little something like this: spotted a herd of standard poodles (3=herd)… asked for a photo while my subject took a tennis balls break (she, and her walker, said yes, but I made a crucial mistake and forgot to get names)… quickly took to the pavement and made a beeline to the nearest market (@mollie_stones)… secured some quality cauliflower… dismantled cauliflower… shot a bunch of cauliflower test subjects… found a match… (take a breath) and here's where I netted out. I actually got sweaty making this one. hills, people. thanks San Francisco mystery poodle and sorry cauliflower. # almost forgot… shot on the #iPhone (#iPhone6)

trumpet vine + traffic cones this one took a little more time than usual. when I got the idea in my head, I knew nothing about trumpet vines, now I think I might know way more than necessary. if you're interested, I can direct you to pretty much all the places they're growing around Atlanta. when this idea started several months ago, I didn't actually know what I was looking for. I didn't know what those orange flowers were called, where I'd seen them before, where they grow?… I just knew what it looked like in my head. anyway, once I made a conscious effort to try and make this thing happen all I could do was look around. for the longest time I saw nothing… and then suddenly I spotted a speck of orange blooming in some bushes on a busy road by my house. like a man possessed, I went back with some pruning shears and participated in a real life game of Frogger. I thought I'd found a needle in the haystack… only to find out that they had just started coming into bloom. so here we are, peak season and they're seemingly everywhere. just a lesson in patience and maybe a little less so, a lesson in persistence. for what it's worth, the traffic cones were easy to find. I borrowed them from a high end organic grocery store in town (specializing in foods) regardless, the cones were returned the following day. side note on the shot of the cones, I locked two tripods together. one right side up and the other upside down, the cones went on the poles of the upside down tripod (which was my grandfathers old tripod circa… old). outtakes on @combophotofail. #combophoto #trumpetvines

a back + apricot what can I say, I was inspired by the lax dress code along the French Riviera. thanks to @mikelawson and @paulflann51 who were my test pilots on this one. I'm genuinely surprised how willing complete strangers were to let me give them an apricot butt. in one particular case the language barrier just made the whole thing too weird. imagine me, who speaks zero French, trying to explain this concept a guy who speaks zero English… none (with an apricot and a camera in my hand). turns out @siljekristiansen4's husband ended up being the back that got the apricot. more #combophoto's ⬅️ here. #ComboPhotos
